It’s not that she’s naive by any means. Montana may be the antithesis of New York, but people still flirt the same.

She knows every time he calls her Montana, or smirks at her newness to the city, that he’s doing more than initiating a new coworker. He’s flirting.
Like a boy pulling pigtails on the playground, he teases and pokes and prods, eagerly anticipating her reaction.
It’s charming, in a way, and only irritating on the worst of days – like dumpster diving for that last needed clue.
She’s flattered, even as she sees him flirt with the lab techs, detectives, and just about any woman that crosses his path while they’re on the job. For while he tries to charm them, she’s the one he likes to tweak, the one that never gets old to tease. She can see it in his eyes, the way they light after a particularly good quip, just waiting to see what she’ll say in reply.
And so, even though she knows he only does to wind her up, Lindsay can’t help but flirt a little back. It’s all about the response, after all.
